Community First, Always

Lantzville are neighbours who believe that respectful communication, shared facts and communication is what truly creates community. But when local dialogue becomes polarized, misinformation spreads unchecked, and online bullying silences valuable voices, the community communication is ignored and stops being taken seriously.

LRS believes every resident deserves to feel supported and heard, conversations need to be built on an objective, professional foundation. When neighbourly communication is grounded in respect, clear and factually based data, it cuts through the noise and returns the focus straight to what matters: protecting our municipality, managing our finances responsibly, and keeping citizens connected and informed.

LRS was established to help change that narrative. The objective is to engage openly with Lantzville’s residents and council, listening first to community needs so Lantzville can collaborate effectively to keep our neighbourhoods informed, provide diligent financial oversight, and safeguard our community’s unique coastal character.

Our goal is to serve as a reliable bridge. By delivering clear municipal updates, objective data, and balanced insights, it becomes simple, welcoming, and stress-free for every resident to engage constructively and help shape our future together.

Who We Are & Who Operates the Site

The initial groundwork, digital setup, and ongoing content for this website and our Facebook page are coordinated by a group of local volunteer residents. We are your neighbors who stepped up to build this infrastructure so Lantzville could have an objective, non-partisan space for municipal updates and constructive discussion.

Our Governance & Growth

As of right now, the LRS is a community start-up operating without a formal Board of Directors or Annual General Meetings (AGMs). As our volunteer base grows and our governance structure evolves, this section will be immediately updated to reflect our leadership team, bylaws, and public meeting schedules.

Vision & Mission

What we believe and how we do it.

Our Vision

To create a vibrant, fiscally responsible community where local governance is defined by financial accountability and transparency, ensuring Lantzville’s unique coastal character and resident priorities thrive for future generations.

Our Mission

To engage with Lantzville’s residents and council: keeping our community informed, providing financial oversight, and protecting our unique coastal character.

Our Strategic Pillars

Fiscal Stewardship

Responsible management of public funds is the foundation of a sustainable community. Municipal oversight must be approached with a collective commitment to ensuring tax revenues are optimized, transparently managed, and directed toward projects that deliver genuine, long-term value to all Lantzville residents.

Objective Advocacy

A strong community voice is powered by collective engagement, objective facts, and reliable data. Representing the diverse interests of Lantzville residents requires an approach free from prejudice, bias, or political friction, ensuring that recommendations to local government are constructive, balanced, and focused entirely on the collective best interest.

Transparency

Democracy thrives when barriers are broken down between local governance and the public. By ensuring clear, accessible information is actively shared, the entire community remains deeply informed, eliminating "surprises" and empowering every resident to participate actively in shaping Lantzville’s future.

Coastal Preservation

Guardianship over Lantzville’s future means evaluating development, infrastructure projects, and municipal policies through the lens of long-term preservation. As the area evolves, a shared commitment to safeguarding its unique coastal character, natural environment, and small-town identity ensures these assets are protected for future generations.
