Hello Lantzville!
We are excited to introduce the Lantzville Residents Society (LRS), a completely independent, non-partisan group dedicated to serving the community.
Lantzville is our special place, but we recognize local community discussions often are divisive, polarized and overwhelming. LRS was formed to help change that narrative by serving as a reliable, constructive bridge between residents and our council.
LRS’ mission is simple: to engage openly with Lantzville’s residents and council, listening first to community needs so we can collaborate and stay informed, provide financial insight, and safeguard our community’s character.
What to expect from the LRS:
Open Transparency: LRS will share clear, accessible, and fact-based information regarding municipal updates. We want to increase knowledge and understanding and eliminate "surprises."
Fiscal Stewardship: We believe tax dollars deserve responsible management, and LRS is committed to looking closely at budget revenue and infrastructure planning to ensure residents get long-term value.
Objective Advocacy: Our voice is powered entirely by objective facts and reliable data, free from political friction, bias, or personal agendas.
Semi-Rural Preservation: LRS looks at every development and policy through the lens of long-term preservation to ensure our community’s identity thrives for future generations.
How We Are Structured:
Who We Are & Who Operates the Site/Page: The initial groundwork and digital setup for the society has been coordinated by a group of local volunteer residents who stepped up to get the infrastructure running so our community could have an objective, non-partisan space for municipal updates.
Our Board & Elections: As of right now, this a start-up without a Board of Directors or AGMs. When that changes LRS website and Facebook page will be updated.
Funding & Donations: We are 100% independent and community-driven, meaning we accept absolutely zero corporate backing or political party funding. Any funds raised through local resident contributions go entirely toward basic operational costs, things like society registration fees, bank account maintenance, website hosting, and printing costs for community event materials. Every dollar is tracked with strict financial accountability, and our financial reports will be made fully transparent to our members.
Looking Ahead:
Starting this month, our team will be publishing unbiased, easy-to-understand research and updates on a bi-weekly basis, covering topics like upcoming budget items, infrastructure, local partnerships, and regional planning.
We want this to be a welcoming, inclusive space for all Lantzvillians to stay informed and engage in respectful, constructive dialogue.
